Actiris, the unemployment service of Brussels, offers the possibility to obtain a language cheque, or ‘chèque langue’ that covers the total cost of a private language course of 40 hours (chèques langue job) of English, Dutch, French or German.
The English Academy is a trusted partner of ACTIRIS. There are other language schools that can accept these cheques, but the English Academy was chosen by ACTIRIS to teach the language lessons for their own employees. That certainly is a reference worth mentioning.

Le chèque langue – Job
De quoi s’agit-il?
Le Chèque langue - Job est une mesure qui vise à faciliter l’engagement des chercheurs d'emploi pour lesquels le manque de connaissances linguistiques (français, néerlandais, allemand, anglais) constitue un obstacle dans leur recherche d'emploi. Le chèque langue - Job vous offre la possibilité de suivre gratuitement une formation en langues dès votre engagement ou votre démarrage comme indépendant à titre principal.
Qui peut bénéficier d’un chèque langue ?
Pour pouvoir bénéficier du Chèque Langue - job, les conditions suivantes doivent être remplies:

Vous êtes inscrit chez ACTIRIS comme chercheur d’emploi et
-
vous connaissez une des deux langues de la Région de Bruxelles-Capitale et,
-
vous passez un test linguistique dans l’une de nos agences AVANT de signer votre contrat de travail ou de vous installer comme indépendant et,
-
vous êtes domicilié dans une des 19 communes de la région de Bruxelles-Capitale ou votre futur employeur est établi en région bruxelloise OU
vous êtes domicilié à Bruxelles et vous allez vous installer comme indépendant à titre principal.
Quels les avantages?
Le Chèque Langue - job est financé à 100% par ACTIRIS. Cette mesure est également cumulable avec les autres chèques ACTIRIS, comme les chèques langue projet professionnel.
Il vous permet de vous mettre à niveau de manière rapide, efficace et sur mesure, pour mieux correspondre au profil recherché par votre futur employeur ou nécessaire à votre future activité.
Quelles formations?
Sur base des résultats obtenus au test linguistique, ce chèque vous permet de suivre 40 heures de cours individuels en néerlandais, français, anglais ou allemand auprès de l’ENGLISH ACADEMY ou d’un autre opérateur de formation partenaire d’ACTIRIS. Ces cours particuliers sont axés sur la fonction ou l’activité que vous occuperez.
Quelle procédure?
Si vous remplissez les conditions, voici la marche à suivre :
AVANT la signature de votre contrat de travail ou votre établissement comme indépendant, prenez rendez-vous à l’Espace langues dans l’une de nos agences pour y passer un test linguistique. Sur base de vos résultats, vous recevrez un « bon à valoir » pour suivre des cours individuels.
APRES avoir signé votre contrat de travail ou démarré votre activité indépendante, vous recevrez votre chèque langue – job en échange du « bon à valoir » dûment complété et d’une copie du contrat de travail ou d’une preuve de votre statut indépendant (numéro d’inscription à la Banque Carrefour Entreprises). La validité du chèque est de 6 mois à compter de la date d'embauche.
Quelles sont les conditions d’octroi?
Ce n’est qu’après la signature de votre contrat de travail ou votre établissement comme indépendant, que vous pourrez obtenir un chèque Langue - Job en échange du bon à valoir. L’employeur doit proposer un contrat de travail à durée indéterminée ou un contrat de travail à durée déterminée d’au moins 6 mois. Le contrat doit toujours concerner au minimum un régime de travail mi-temps. Dans le cas du statut indépendant, votre activité doit être effectuée à titre principal.
